Pattaya November 2013

Finally sat down and filtered through hundreds of pictures of my Pattaya trip and post-processed them. Neither my photography or my photoshop skills are that great but hey, we need to start somewhere right?

This was a 8D7N trip in Thailand and we went to Pattaya before heading back to Bangkok. We were truly on the 'vacation-mood' while we were there compared to the city. Maybe it's because things are different there and you are so close to the beach. :D We booked ourselves at the Sabai Wing hotel which had a great location and a great pool, not so great on the room lightning and the view outside your window though. I guess it's accommodated for couples mostly then?

Pattaya was great with the beach and their street food. The place itself was pretty huge but no worries as you can just hop onto a tuk-tuk anytime and it's cheap too! However, I must say that the pollution in Thailand is pretty bad. :( As soon as I arrived there I started breaking out and it just makes me feels so depressed seeing my face like that. I mean, don't you want to look good on your trip? Thank goodness the rashes calmed down a few days after we went to Bangkok!

I have started a Lookbook account. Well, to be frank I've had it long ago but I've never posted anything because.... I'm too shy to take my outfit shots :/ Anyways, since I've started it, I hope you'd give my some support by Hyping my look if you like it! :D

Day 2 at Pattaya was a on-the-road-adventure day! Because I have no interest in those extreme water activities, I decided to stay on land and explore the city with my mom instead. I love hanging around the beach especially because it's just so beautiful! You don't get to see the beach when you live in a city. Don't worry if you're like me, there's so much to explore and you won't get tired of the street food I tell you!

Visited a mall and I just had to take a touristy shot in front of Mcdonalds. I gotta say I love their spinach pie lol!

On a side note, while I was having breakfast myself at the hotel buffet (I woke up too late so my travel group were done eating already), an aunty came towards me and said another male worker complimented me lol! I felt really happy and shy at the same time haha!

Nighttime activities were limited if you're not the sort to drink and 'have fun' but we were able to visit the famous Alcazar show. The ladyboys were so pretty and the performances were awesome too! I just wished it was longer though. We took pictures with some of them and omg, their boobs were so huge that they were nearly the size of my face!

The next morning we departed to Bangkok which I will be continuing in another post. There's just way too many pictures of Bangkok haha! Till then~

Touched Down

Just got back from Bangkok a few hours ago. There are lots of things to clean, settle and catch up with these few days so I doubt that I can blog about my trip so soon. Nevertheless, I decided to put an effort to my blog with a short update.

This shot was taken on the flight just before the sun eventually shy away from the horizon. The view was so breathtaking that I just couldn't stop clicking on the shutter button on my camera!

8D7N in Pattaya and Bangkok made me feel so outdated with the latest news as soon as I came back here. Yet I'm very glad to be able to breathe in fresh air and listen to local slang again! Over 500 pictures and video clips of the entire trip for me to filter through so they won't be surfacing on my blog until I'm done with all the post-processing. Till then!

{Review} Etude House Wonder Pore Series

In the previous post I mentioned that I'll be showing you how I remove my makeup. Products which I used are Bifesta's Sebum Cleansing Lotion, Biore's Cleansing Oil, Etude House's Wonder Pore Whipping Foam and Wonder Pore Freshner. All these products are my favourite and I have used them for a long long time! To show you how I remove my makeup, I thought it's best to record a video! :D However, I omitted Bifesta's Sebum Cleansing Lotion in the video as I got too nervous and I forgot about that lol, sorry!

It's my first time recording and uploading a full length video so pardon my skills! Didn't expect creating videos are such a challenge! A big salute to all the Youtubers out there! I'll be doing reviews for Etude House's Wonder Pore series below the video.

My makeup removing + facial routine usually goes like this: Cleansing Lotion for eyes and mouth > Cleansing Oil for entire face > Cleanser > Toner > Moisturiser (The current one I'm using is Nature Republic's Aloe Vera Gel).

I'd skipped the cleansing lotion in the video and proceeded to the cleansing oil instead. Works the same actually, but I prefer using two products. Remove your makeup and massage at the same time with the cleansing oil. Then, remember to emulsify the oil with water by massaging in circular motions. Wash off and continue with cleanser, toner and moisturiser.

I like to use gentle circular motions to ensure all residue are removed and give more attention to areas around my nose, eyebrows and hairline. I get acne easily around these areas. :(

Back to the review, my favourite cleanser by far is undoubtly Etude House's Wonder Pore Whipping Foaming! It's my second bottle already and I'm still loving it! :D

Formulated with an oxygen-delivering 'Carbonated' ingredient and pore-caring natural ingredients, this 2 in 1 foaming wash and mask effectively treats impurities inside pores and helps prevent future pore related problems.

As a daily Face Wash: Dispense on a facial cleansing brush or a palm, and massage onto wet face with gentle circular motions. Rinse of with lukewarm water.
As a Mask: Apply generously all over wet, cleansed face and leave for 1~2 minutes. Massage with fingers or a Pore Cleansing Facial Brush in gentle circular motions. Rinse off with lukewarm water. Use 1~2 times a week.

The product claims to be a 7 in 1 pore solution
- Deep cleanse pores
It cleanses well, but I'm not too sure about deep cleanse.
- Balance your skin's ideal pH level
I have to give a yes for this. The other day I tried on some facial product samples and I broke out immediately. Rashes were popping out all over my face and it irritates my skin as well. After using this product, the toner and homemade Rice Water mask my skin finally calmed down. So I feel that it does balance out the pH level of your skin.
- Minimize appearance of pores
Pores on certain areas of my face does become less visible. I used to have pores all aside my nose and they are gone now. :)
- Refine the skin tones
Not sure about this one too, I haven't seen much difference...
- Control a large amount of sebum
It does do the job, but don't expect 100%~
- Keep the elasticity of pores
I don't know why you'd keep the elascity of the pores?
- Moisturize inside and outside of skin
The product is very mild and doesn't dry out my skin at all, I love it! :D

There's 200ml of the product but you can't judge how much you're left with until it's almost finish lol. Also, it's good that it pumps out in foam however, as you can see in the video, sometimes it doesn't end up being a ball of foam. It's not a huge problem to me but I'll just state it for anyone who's concern about that.

Next, it's the Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner. I tell you, this is one awesome toner! Thumbs up for both the product and the packaging! To be honest, for a long time I used to skip my toner because it didn't look like it did anything for my skin at all. Plus, I dislike toners which you have to pour out onto your palms or a cotton pad because you can't really control the amount of the toner. Etude House's Wonder Pore toner uses a pump and it pumps just the right amount. I usually use 2 pumps but I did a few times more in the video as my toner is finishing. I got myself a new one already, haha!

It's best to use both the Wonder Pore series products together to achieve best results. :D Both are products which I absolutely love and would totally recommend them for anyone looking for new facial products!

Ahh... I'm in love with Etude House's products~!

Miss A Hush inspired makeup

Many Kpop artist and groups are making their comeback this lately, it just gets me hooked onto my laptop checking updates everyday! I listen to many Kpop songs to the point if I list them all out, it'll be endless, lol! From their songs, styles to personalities, most of them are just so captivating! :D Usually those who has great fashion sense catches my attention first but when I know the group members more I usually end up liking someone else from the group... (^^;)

Anyways, since I have finished my nail art course (I'm left with preparing for exam) so I'm home lately. I know my blog has been idle for some time already so I decided to put some effort for a proper blog post (instead of my cats pictures :P). As I said, with so many Kpop comebacks topped with their great styles I decided to choose Miss A's look in their new song, Hush. It projects a very feminine image sprinkled with some sexiness to it but not too exaggerated. I love how they have sleek comb-backed ponytails, cropped turtleneck tops, leather bottoms plus a pair of pumps to go with. It's something I would wear too! :D

It took me a long time to photoshop these photos because I wanted to achieve that 'Hush' mood in the mv. I'm still not really good in photoshopping but I tried my best (^^;) And.... my lips weren't red enough to achieve the look I wanted so I sort of photoshopped them redder which explains why there's some colour difference lol... (^^;)

Sometimes I just put on makeup for fun at home and take some pictures. So what do I do after that???

Simply remove it. :P

In the next post I'll be showing you how I remove my makeup so stay tuned~! :D

I think my blog is slowly turning into my cat's blog

I didn't exactly had a good night sleep last night thanks to a thunderstorm. It was so loud and scary till it woke me up from my deep sleep. I'm grateful that at least we're still fine here in Malaysia compared to our neighbouring countries, Philippines and Vietnam.

Today's one of those days where I stay at home and rest thanks to my monthly blues. With Thailand trip drawing so close, I'm seizing every opportunity I can to practice and practice my photography skills. I just got my camera not too long ago but I hope to take good pictures of this upcoming trip. :)

I'm so sorry for waking Dolly while he was having his afternoon nap. But he's just so cute and the lightning seemed so beautiful I just had to get my camera and made him my model, haha! I noticed that I've been posting so many photos of my cats lately that my blog could slowly be turning into their blog instead lol! Don't worry, that'll never happen~ :P

That aside, I've completed the itinerary for my Thailand trip and most preparations are done already. I just have to pack and that's about it. We aren't packing for 8D7N since we're planning to shop most of the time. Tops, bottoms, shoes, makeup, accessories... Oh I'm just so excited thinking bout it!

Friday can be fun too

Angel looked really good today and the camera decided to focus on her instead! XD

A long day out today with my dearies, catching up and spending our Friday together. Life can be simple and rewarding sometimes.

It's been a long time since we've catch a movie together so we went for Carrie. Which was pretty good, but lacking in some parts. I love watching Chloe Grace Moretz on screen!

We had lunch together at Tokyo Teppan at Tokyo Street and there was a blackout while we're there lol. Well, not your ordinary lunch experience at least. Food was pretty good and Angel treated me a bento set as my belated birthday present, thanks again sweetie! (^^)

Time passes by so fast and we've all been together for 6 years (Soon!). Comparing with the days where we used to go out for shopping and spending without much concern on the price tags and now, going out for mostly food, makes me feel that we've all grown up, haha! 6 years of friendship so far and I hope we'll be able to maintain it as the time passes by. :)

Why Do You Wear Makeup?

Spent my Sunday afternoon watching Youtube Music Awards and blogwalking as usual. A few days ago, I stumbled across a blog which did a 'Why Do You Wear Makeup' tag and apparently many others did the tag too. They were interesting reads knowing how others got into this interest like I do so I decided that I should tell me own 'story' too. :)

1. When did you begin loving makeup?
Believe or not, I used to hate putting one makeup when I was young. I loathed dance performances which requires makeup because my mom used to apply lots of blush, winged eyeliner (like really winged up), mature eyebrows and bright lipstick which doesn't compliment the look. It works on my mom, but it didn't work on me though.

This was one of the better looks back in 2009.

I finally got into makeup when I was 14, and it all started with eyeliner. I was terrible with it back then and used to stretch my eyelids as I drew uneven eyeline with a pencil eyeliner. I've been there before so I know how it feels when you are clueless about makeup when you begin.

My initial inspirations were of course Jpop artist and Gyarus. But what actually sparked my interest was when my aunt who's a makeup artist came back to visit us all the way from Switzerland, she brought back tons of makeup for me to play with. Of course she demonstrated makeup on me too and it felt good. Since then I just kept going forward with makeup. Of course, there's still a lot to learn but I'm open to the vast knowledge in this area. :)

2. How do you feel without makeup?
Funny story: Twice I walked into the same shop with and without makeup. With makeup, the sales assistant welcomed me warmly and cater to my needs. Without makeup, no one bothered to come towards me and gave me weird glances. I guess I look really different with makeup! :P

It felt a little bad when people judge you by your looks. It's the real world though, however, I have learned to love my naked face. After all, only you have it and it's a unique face you know. And to be able to looks beautiful with makeup on the same face means your features are not that bad ;) And sometimes, you've just got to find the right makeup so that you'll look good. So experiment and more experiment!

3. What do you like about your makeup?
In terms of that, I don't always stick to a same makeup routine everyday, though I have a 'rushing-out-makeup-look'. I still have lots to learn but I'm happy with the knowledge I've gained so far.

I feel happy when I play with makeup. It's like creating art from a canvas, except it's on a face. It lets me express my creativity and my feelings. :)

4. Three holy grain products:

Etude House Precious Mineral BB cream, Kate designing Eyebrow N and K-Palette Real Lasting Eyeliner 24H WP Micro.

I love the BB cream and the eyebrow kit, but not so much of the eyeliner. It's the only eyeliner I have though and eyeliner plays an important role for me! In fact, with these three products, I can already get out of the house with them! :D

Since I wasn't tagged and did this willingly, I'm not going to tag anyone here but if you felt that it's fun to share your experiences, feel free to do so and do leave your blog link so I can check it out too! :D I hoped you enjoyed the post~! :D

18th Birthday Celebration

First of all, a huge THANK YOU to all those who wished me on my special day. Some of your wishes were unexpected but they were a pleasant surprise. :) I'm guilty of being self-obsessed sometimes because you know what? I stayed up late last night waiting for the flooding Facebook wishes which never happened lol. #memesarelies Still, it was the only day when I'm busiest with replying all your wishes, so thank you very much!!!

It's been a long long day and things actually turned out to be the way I want, which is great! Although I didn't have a birthday cake to say my wishes but that's okay. :)

In fact, I listed down some wishes after Angel texted me on Whatsapp the other day. They're wishes, yes, but they have always been my long term goals so the most I can wish for is to achieve the closest as I can to them. They're not material things btw...

Going back to the topic, here's how I spent my day today! :D

I had nail art classes as usual this morning because I don't want to miss my classes since time is precious! Afterwards I went for lunch at Pasta Zanmai which was not my usual place to go for lunch at Midvalley. That one meal costed more than RM30 which is equivalent to 3 days meal at Midvalley itself. It was a good meal and I suppose it's okay to treat yourself once in a while, hehe!

After lunch, I went for my appointment at 76 style! I chose the last day for my birthday month Ultrasonic Treatment offer and coincidentally it fell on my birthday too! (Ok, not really, I kinda planned this out :P) It was a fun experience doing the Ultrasonic Treatment which uses vibration instead of steaming. Do you know that steam treatment only last for a few days because as it steams your hair to allow the cuticles to open for the treatment to be absorbed, many times the cuticles are not closed back thus the treatment you have applied is basically gone after a few days?

After the absorption of the treatment, hair mask was applied and rinsed, followed by tonic and blow drying. Since it was my birthday I requested for a wavy curl so I can look good for dinner, hehe~ My hair has grown out a lot since my last visit but I might only be visiting when I decide to get my fringe cut at the same time... (^^;) Anyways, many thanks to Shaun and his assistant for the kind hostility and services! It was a great experience at 76Style again! :D

Good service makes you forget about your previous bad experience lol, like what I went through few days ago....

Since it's my birthday, I took the trouble to actually get my nails done, MYSELF. This set of gel nails are varsity style inspired, with my initials and the year I was born. Normally I don't do my right hand because I'm right handed and it's a fuss to do anything on it since my left hand can barely manage any nail art. Here're some applauses for myself. :P

Dinner @ Ben's KLCC!

Finally dining at Ben's. You don't know how many times I wanted to go in there but the prices on the menu held me back. I absolutely love their interior design so did my mom! In choosing a place to dine in, it's always atmosphere first then food for me. The place was so nicely decorated that we wanted to bring back some of the ideas for our new house next year! :D

Actually, once you see their pasta portions, you will think that their prices are pretty reasonable! They were so huge that we had to stop eating midway to digest then continue lol!

We actually contemplated on ordering a slice of cake for my birthday (I'm not a cake lover) but we were way too full to eat anything more. So no cake it is.

Bet you're wondering what I got for my birthday...right? I actually got my presents long ago and had opened them but decided not to reveal them till I posted this post. My birthday presents were all simple surprises this year yet they held so much meanings to me.

I got a box of cookies and masks from Ky Li and a beret and a Hello Kitty pencil case from Ally. I love them all! Thank you so much!

The cookies which Ky Li gave me were so beautiful that till today I still haven't ate them yet, hahahahah~! I'm sure she's having a weird reaction reading this lol :P (No, there's no mold yet, they still look fine and I'm gonna eat them soon~ :P)

And of course, the best surprise of all was a bouquet of SUNFLOWERS from my mom and a hand drawn card from my brother. It's my first time receiving flowers and I'm glad it's from my mom lol and a simple card from my brother was really heartwarming as well. Mom knows my favourite flowers are Sunflowers and she bought real ones for me and wrapped them up herself to save cost. We're a simple family and I'm more than content with the simple things they do to show me their love. I love them so much and can't help but to tear up as I typed this...

Thank you Daddy, Mommy and Samuel. I love you all.

And thank you for all the wishes and blessing from everyone. I hope that in return they will be your blessing too. :)

I'll never forget today. :')
