Cameron Highlands December 2012

My family and I decided to take a short trip of 3 days 2 nights up to Cameron Highlands. The last time we were there was 10 years ago so pretty much most of the things have changed. It was constantly drizzling throughout our trip so the weather was pretty chilly!

My mom had always wished to stay at the Strawberry Park Resort. We thought we would splurge a little more on accommodation; after all, we don't always go on trips.

Christmas decoration at the Cameron Highlands Resort. The cold atmosphere up the hill and the beautiful decorations hung up lets you experience a different kind of Christmas in a tropical country.

Smokehouse Hotel is a must to visit! It has preserved its British feel and it's a great place for photography! I think it's perfect for families or romantic couples. (^^) Cameron Highlands is famous for its abundant species of flowers so you can expect to see flower gardens almost everywhere!

Lunchtime at Smokehouse Restaurant. Nothing fancy for the food although they were priced much more expensive than most restaurants out there. You dine there for its overall atmosphere so you ain't got anything to complain.

Visiting the BOH Tea Plantation. It was a long journey of winding uphill road. There are few other tea plantations at Cameron Highlands but we thought that we should visit this one as it has a long founding history in Malaysia. It's one of the attraction spots where you can't access by bus so the number of visitors was visibly lesser. But to go up there and have a cup of tea is a wonderful experience!

Strawberry farms are not to miss! There are lots of strawberry farms up there but every farm differs in terms of quality and standard. We visited this Big Red Strawberry Farm which has a huge plantation of strawberries, flowers and cactus. Also, you get to try their freshly made strawberry dessert! We entered the farm through a small alley in Brinchang among some houses so it might not be easy to find unlike the other roadside farms.

It was a great experience to see so many new attractions and to spend some quality time with my family. Here ends my last travel post of 2012. I really love to travel and I hope that I will get to go more places in 2013!

New Hair Colour

One of my biggest wish after graduation was to dye my hair. In Malaysia, students are not allowed to dye their hair and that restriction had always been bothering me. A few days before I went to Singapore, I finally got my hair dyed. :)

It's been a while now since I've dyed it and I didn't want to blog about it as it was not very obvious at first. It has pretty much faded now to a shade of copper brown which I don't really like. I'm giving my hair a rest before I change it to another colour (^^;)

Colour inspiration was originally Wine Red but my mom was strongly against it so in the end we settled for Mahogany instead. I wanted something which can match many different fashion styles without going too extreme at the same time.

Last picture with black hair? I went to the Foruchizu fashion show as Isetan as soon as I dyed my hair.

It was not obvious at all on the first day. I could barely see the colour under normal lightning. Pretty disappointing as I wanted an obvious change to my hair colour.

My profile face doesn't look nice at all (T T) My new hair colour only shows when the picture is taken with flash. Even after several washing, it still doesn't achieve this colour so I'm pretty disappointed :( The bill was paid by mom so I didn't have to bear a cent. (^^;) Saving up for my next hair dye soon~!

Singapore December 2012 - Shopping and Leaving Singapore

What's a trip without shopping? We had a little more sleep on our second night to re-energize ourselves for a whole day long's shopping. It was the only day where I actually bother to dress myself up nicely (^^)

First stop was ION Orchard. Orchard Road is so vast that it was impossible for us to go every single mall there. We went to ION Orchard, Takashimaya, Tangs Plaza and Far East Plaza. My favourite one was Far East Plaza for its fashionable items but I couldn't buy everything as we went there on our last day and I was running out of cash. :(

Coordinate of the day! I wished I had better shoes to match :3

We did so much shopping that we completely forgotten about taking photos! Items shown are stuff we got in the span of three days. We got some more on day 4!

Anyways, Bugis Street is mad love! We got most of our stuff there and wore them as soon as we got back to Malaysia. (^^) I love how fast forward fashion is in Singapore compared to Malaysia! They have lots of nice affordable things which we still don't! Please bring better fashion items to Malaysia at a lower price...

We had to leave of Day 4. If you read my first post on Singapore, you would've known that I've mentioned things took a 360° change by the end of the trip.

Our flight was scheduled at 6.30pm so we arrived around 4pm at Changi Airport. We arrived early and the display board was not showing whether our flight was available for check in yet but when it finally showed, we were told that the boarding had closed. No flights were available until the next day and the next flight would cost us $891 which is equivalent to around RM2000. Obviously we won't pay for that amount and stay overnight at the airport so we took a bus back home instead.

In times like this, it's very important to keep oneself calm and be very positive. Going home by bus was an eye-opening experience for us. I guess even though we missed our flight, in return we have learned how to take a bus back to Malaysia. I'm pretty grateful to have acquire such experience and have came home safely. We managed to reach home at 4am and I am really thankful to my parents who took the trouble to fetch me back home at such an hour. :'D

Overall, it was a thrilling and fun trip I had in Singapore. I truly cherish my moments spend in the Lion City. Thank you! ♥

Singapore December 2012 - Universal Studios Singapore

Day 2 of our visit we went to none other than Universal Studios Singapore! Having heard so many good reviews about the theme park, I was really excited to go there and get on the rides!

Arrival at Universal Studios Singapore! We went there during the peak season but there wasn't much of a queue compared to theme parks here in Malaysia. Good job for the efficiency!

Taking touristy shots in front of the globe as a proof that we had been there...

Entering through Hollywood. I wished I spent more time there taking pictures! Everywhere looked picturesque to me :)

I say that USS is amazingly constructed as it feels like you've entered somewhere else every time you step into another area of the theme park. We almost felt as if we weren't in Singapore!

Having a warm cup of coffee at the roadside is one of the most pleasurable thing to do! It would've been even nicer if the setting was in a western country itself, haha!

You get to buy 'awards' for your love ones too!

Entering New York street! There are lots of street performances and special programmes being held around the theme park at different hours so do grab a schedule at the entrance to enjoy yourself to the fullest! And I really love how the performers at USS present their professionalism!

There's a small alley at New York street which was perfect for taking photographs! It's pretty quiet but you really should really see the vintage setting of the place. (^^)

We got on our first ride at Sci Fi City. The theme park fun started so we didn't take as much pictures afterwards. (^^;) If you're more to the adventurous side like me, I think you'll prefer the Cyclone ride compared to the Human ride at the Battlestar Galactica.

We skipped the Revenge of the Mummy ride at Ancient Egypt. Even though I wanted to get on all the exciting rides but Angel and Ky Li were too afraid to accompany me due to the eerie atmosphere at the ride. I guess finding friends who are as adventurous as you are is not easy (^^;)

We stopped by The Lost World before we had our lunch. Has anyone ever experienced going to a theme park with odd number of friends and someone ended up getting on the ride with a stranger? Happened to us several times (^^;)

We ventured Far Far Away for our lunch with an exhilarating view.

A simple yet filling lunch at Frair's.

After lunch, we went for Shrek's 4D Adventure where I accidentally LOST MY PHONE. I nearly cried due to my carelessness but I got it back thanks to the kind staffs at USS. I can't express enough gratefulness to them! If things like this happened here in Malaysia I don't think I'll ever see my phone again. Thank you so much! ♥♥♥

We went to Madagascar for more rides. My favourite character has got to be Marty!

I really enjoyed the Madagascar Crate Adventure ride especially the last part where they had a curtain waterfall. You've got to ride it yourself to know why!

It was yet another rainy day so we missed out on the Song Of The Sea performance. :( Dragging ourselves back to Vivocity for dinner and we had another depressing conversion rate problem. A simple Ramen dinner with 2 bowls of ramen and a dish of fried gyoza easily costed us nearly RM100. :'( It was the most expensive meal we had in Singapore.

Nearly everyday we end up dragging ourselves back to the hotel with our sore feet. But we looked forward to each day's experiences in Singapore. (^^) Thank you Singapore!
